Scott Doney from WHOI will present at the first Fall colloquium series on Sept 19th, and his talk is entitled: "Coastal Water Quality, Climate Change & Ocean Acidification along the U. S. Northeast"

Abstract:

Human-driven climate change inherently affects people and the environment at regional and local scales. The coastal boundary between the land and the sea will be especially vulnerable to ongoing and future climate change, ocean acidification, and local nutrient pollution. The talk will present several case studies on the interplay of water quality, warming, and acidification for the coastal waters of Buzzards Bay and adjacent ocean continental shelf off of southern New England.
