Emily Carrero Mustelier

Graduate Student

My research involves large-scale imaging of earthquake cycle activity using kinematic models constrained
by dense geodetic observations.

Emily is a PhD candidate in the Meade Lab at Harvard University. She integrates high-resolution geodetic observations of interseismic deformation with kinematic models of fault system activity to image and constrain present-day fault system activity along the North Anatolian Fault in Turkey.

Her previous work focused on imaging the Earth’s upper mantle structure beneath the southeastern United States by utilizing seismic travel times. Similarly, she used receiver functions and common-conversion-point techniques to investigate crust and mantle structures in Nicaragua, analyzing data obtained from broadband seismic networks.

Emily earned her B.A. in Earth Sciences from Columbia University and her M.A. in Earth and Planetary Sciences from Harvard University.
