The Salata Institute for Climate and Sustainability serves as a fulcrum for collaboration across Harvard’s many areas of expertise, pursuing practical, real-world solutions that address all aspects of the climate crisis.

The Harvard University Center for the Environment (HUCE), a center of the Salata Institute for Climate and Sustainability, encourages research and education about the environment and its many interactions with human society.

The Microbial Sciences Initiative is an open microbiology community based out of Harvard University serving the microbe-curious both within and beyond our university.

The Origins of Life Initiative supports multi-disciplinary research aimed at revealing if life is abundant in the Universe, seeking to understand how the initial conditions on planets, including our own Earth and planets around other stars, dictated the origins of life and its subsequent evolution.

The Harvard Data Science Initiative (HDSI) represents Harvard’s commitment to shaping the new science of data. It illuminates the new interdisciplinary pathways that our faculty, students, and partners will use to solve real problems, in a world with critical ethical challenges regarding facts, data, and truth.

The Kempner Institute for the Study of Natural and Artificial Intelligence at Harvard University brings together students, scientists, and engineers dedicated to revealing the foundations of intelligence in both natural and artificial contexts, and to leveraging these findings to develop groundbreaking technologies.

The Center for Geographic Analysis (CGA)was established in 2006 to support research and teaching across all disciplines in the University as they relate to geospatial technology and methods.
