Chloe joined EPS as a preceptor in January 2022. Her work combines teaching and mentoring in the form of TF training workshops, improving course content, providing course support for faculty, and co-teaching our senior thesis course designed to guide undergraduates during the thesis writing process. Chloe also works on improving student learning and fostering positive experiences in the field components of our courses.

Chloe earned her Ph.D. in Earth Sciences at Boston University and completed her B.S. in Oceanography and B.A. in Earth and Space Sciences from the University of Washington.  In her research, Chloe applies multivariate statistics to marine sediment geochemistry to tease apart sediment sources and environmental signals. Her recent research has included reconstructing Mid-Miocene climate variability of the East Asian Monsoon and the evolution of the interior deserts of Asia, reconstructing the intensity of anoxia on the Namibian Shelf during the Holocene and Late Pleistocene as recorded by sedimentary redox proxies, and estimates of iron supplied to the North Pacific from volcanic activity in the Izu-Bonin Arc.
