Mike is an AWS Climate Data Science Fellow in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Harvard University. He leads the development of HarvestStat, the world’s first globally harmonized dataset of subnational crop production statistics. By coupling remote sensing with ground-based agricultural records, his work aims to understand how climate dynamics shape yield responses across the globe. He received his Ph.D. in astrophysics from Harvard, where he studied the three-dimensional structure of the interstellar medium and the physics of turbulence in star-forming regions.
