Lauren Kuntz will be presenting on Snyder's paper from this week's issue of Nature. She says the following about the paper:
Snyder, 2016 uses a multi-proxy database to reconstruct a continuous record of global surface temperatures over the past 2 million years. This reconstruction is compared to other climate records including deep water temperatures, CO2 records, and Antarctic temperatures. A long term cooling trend in global mean temperatures is identified, and suggested to be tied to the mid-pleistocene transition. Bold claims regarding implications for climate sensitivity are also made and deserve consideration through a critical lens.
