In addition to the sample collections, the EPS teaching collections also contain other educational aids.

Geological Collections

EPS Microscope Collection and Teaching Lab

The EPS Microscope Teaching Lab is located in room 314b.  For use in the lab room are 9 polarizing Olympus microscopes, one with photographing mount and computer screen.  In addition to the polarizing microscopes, the Microscope Collection also contains 4 stereomicroscopes for general use in the labs.

Fossil Collection

The EPS Fossil collection consists of approximately 4000 specimens.  The collection is stored in the glass fronted blue cases in the entrance hall to room 314 (drawers 1-65) and consists of the following:

Fossil Samples

Rock Collection

The EPS Rock Collection contains over 10,000 samples and is housed in rooms 314d and 312 of the Harvard Science Center.  The collection consists of the following:
 

Igneous, Metamorphic, and Sedimentary Rock Collection

Igneous and Metamorphic collections stored in room 314d (locked collection closet accessed from room 314), and Sedimentary collection is stored in blue glass fronted cases located at the in the hallway entrance to room 312).

Mineral Collection

The EPS Mineral Collection which contains over 13,000 specimens is housed in room 314 of the Harvard Science Center and consists of the following:

Mineral Study Samples

Stored in both the green steel cases adjoining the windows at the side of room 314 as well as in the blue glass fronted cases facing the sink area to the back of the room.
